NEWCOMERS: GETTING CONNECTED

New to the area? Have you been living in the area for awhile but are now looking for a church home? Maybe Ebenezer is for you.

We're not a flashy church; we don't pretend to be. We're not going to be on the cutting edge of all the trends in the modern church. Our church is unassuming and modest.

However, we do have something most churches don't have. We have people who will make you feel like you're part of a family. Our church was established initially as a family church based on blood relations. People were related to each other in the community, and they worshiped together on Sundays.

Nowadays, our church is related by a stronger blood bond...the blood of Jesus. And we welcome anyone who wants to be part of our church family.

The easiest way to get connected in our church is to realize that our people are friendly and will speak to you on Sundays. The pastor will greet you; he will not try to overwhelm you with lots of phone calls and visits. We trust that if God wants you in our fellowship, you will sense that. We will call you, we will check on you, we will give you opportunities to serve.

You can stay in touch with events and happenings by staying in touch on our website. And you can feel more a part of our church fellowship by letting yourself get close to our church members. They have a lot to offer in caring attitudes.

You also need to get involved in as many services as you can. We offer Sunday School and Morning Worship on Sundays. We offer small groups on Sunday nights. The more services you attend, the more people you will meet, and the more connections you will make.

Ask for a visit from the pastor. Get to know him and his family and ask questions about the church and how you might fit in. Visit with people in the church. Get to know them and give them a chance to show God's love to you.

So pray about if God wants you to be part of Ebenezer. He has put together a wonderful group of people. We all have our faults, we have our areas of brokenness, but God has proven Himself to be good to us in all things.

If you feel that God is leading you to join Ebenezer, talk to the pastor. He will help you explore God's will in how you can serve the church body and guide you through the process of making a commitment to the Ebenezer family.
