MISSIONS

Ebenezer is a missions-minded church. We participate in both home missions as well as home missions. Some examples of our missions outreach are:

1. We collect school supplies year-round to help out needy students in our community. This includes, pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, and backpacks. Each August, we assemble the backpacks according to the required school supplies for each school district and include a letter from our church. We pray over the backpacks and then provide them to local schools so that they will have them available for children when school starts. The testimonies from this are tremendous. This past September, we received word that a student received one of our backpacks after his house burned down. His previous backpack and supplies were lost in the fire the week school started. The backpack from Ebenezer made a huge difference in his life.

2. We collect canned goods and other non-perishable items to have a church-wide food bank on hand. We distribute that food to any of our church members who may be having a difficult time; we also take the food to local food banks and other organizations on the front lines, such as the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault.

3. We participate each year in Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritan's Purse. We prepare boxes as individual members, but we also have donations to the church that we use to prepare additional boxes. We also arrange a volunteer day for young people to go to the Charlotte NC processing center to help with sorting and preparing shoeboxes for overseas.

4. Each Christmas, our church collects winter clothes and other items to contribute to the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault. This organization takes care of women and children who have been teh subject of abuse.

5. We actively support 6 foreign missionary families as a church body through our denomination's foreign mission program. These missionaries serve all around the world and routinely come back to Ebenezer to share on what God is doing through them on the mission field.

6. Our Woman's Missionary Society is active in promoting both home and foreign missions. At Christmas, they prepare Christmas gifts for local residents, and they are always looking for opportunities from God to serve others on the home mission field and abroad. They also contribute to foreign missions and coordinate their efforts with the denomination's Woman's Missionary Society.
